Where do you offer summer internships?
We offer summer internships in nine countries in Sub-Saharan Africa; South Africa, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Ghana, Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. The settings are hugely varied, and all incredible in their unique ways. You can be based in a rural village in Malawi, in a National Park in Zimbabwe, on an idyllic island in the Indian Ocean, or in a multicultural city.
We also offer some remote summer internships. If you’re unable to travel, but you’d like to gain some international work experience, this could be a great opportunity. You’ll still be part of a nonprofit organization doing grassroots work in Africa, but you’ll have the flexibility of working from home.
Who are summer internships for?
We’re open to all applications. Many of our interns are students who are doing their internship as part of their degree, or at least as part of their career plan, but a summer internship can also be a great opportunity if you’ve just come out of high school, and you’re looking to combine a first work experience with traveling and explore different cultures and countries. Or you might be a working professional looking to change careers, or to just bring your skills to a good cause.
All our internships have specific requirements, so please check out which internships you might quality for, but there are plenty of programs that don’t require much experience – just some good skills, great passion, and a desire to learn. We carefully match each person with the right organization, ensuring that you’ll be able to use and develop the right skills, so just get in touch if you’d like to explore your options!
