Help shape and promote a Maasai-owned tented camp to a global audience

Join a unique Maasai-owned, eco-friendly tented camp nestled in Kenya’s Maasai Mara, dedicated to sustainable tourism that supports both conservation and local communities. As a Sustainable Tourism intern, you will play a key role in shaping and promoting its brand to a global audience. You’ll assist with website management and development, content writing, social media, helping tell the story of our camp, the Maasai community, and conservation efforts. You’ll also help with our overall marketing strategy, research, and digital marketing efforts.

Throughout the remote internship, you will gain valuable experience in digital marketing, content writing, strategic communications, and eco-tourism branding. You’ll develop skills in website management, social media marketing, and research, all while contributing to a meaningful cause that supports environmental stewardship and indigenous empowerment.

ORGANIZATION

Mattikoko Safari Camp is a Maasai-owned, eco-friendly, tented camp located in the heart of Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve. The camp and it’s staff are passionate about sustainable tourism that supports conservation and empowers local communities. A stay at the camp blends authentic cultural experiences with responsible wildlife tourism, creating meaningful connections between travelers and the Maasai people.

TASKS & REQUIreMENTS

This virtual marketing internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of a sustainable tourism brand while gaining hands-on experience in communications and digital development. You will work remotely with the team to enhance the online presence and storytelling, helping to promote eco-friendly travel and community-led conservation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with website development and content management
  • Write compelling website copy and blog posts focused on safari experiences and conservation
  • Create engaging social media content tailored to various platforms
  • Help design a marketing and communications strategy aligned with sustainability goals
  • Conduct marketing research on eco-tourism trends and competitor analysis
