Develop skills in partnerships and fundraising while supporting a nonprofit focused on advocacy, mentorship, and community development

Are you interested in building relationships, securing funding, and making a real impact in the nonprofit sector? This Remote Partnerships & Fundraising Internship offers a hands-on opportunity to develop skills in donor engagement, sponsorship outreach, and strategic partnerships while working with Sisters Keepers, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering Black girls through mentorship and leadership training.

Interns will play a key role in researching funding opportunities, cultivating relationships with potential donors, and contributing to fundraising campaigns. You will work closely with a remote team, assisting in proposal writing, grant applications, and outreach efforts. Whether you’re looking to strengthen your communication skills, explore nonprofit fundraising, or gain insight into partnership development, this fundraising internship will provide you with invaluable experience in a mission-driven environment.

ORGANIZATION

This nonprofit organization empowers Black girls across the United States through mentorship, leadership training, and advocacy. By providing educational resources and personal development programs, it helps young women build confidence, develop essential skills, and create positive change in their communities. With a commitment to accessibility, the organization offers remote internships, allowing participants to contribute to impactful projects from anywhere. Interns support mentorship initiatives, outreach efforts, and leadership programs that expand opportunities for young Black girls, fostering resilience, self-expression, and career readiness.

TASKS & REQUIreMENTS

This remote internship will be tailored to your skills and interests, ensuring you contribute meaningfully while expanding your knowledge in fundraising, donor relations, and partnership building.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and research grants, sponsorships, and donor opportunities
  • Assist in writing grant proposals and sponsorship requests
  • Develop outreach materials and fundraising content
  • Maintain databases of potential and existing donors
  • Support relationship-building efforts with funders and corporate sponsors
  • Help coordinate fundraising campaigns and digital giving initiatives
  • Track and report on fundraising performance metrics
  • Collaborate with the team to develop new partnership strategies

Requirements

  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • Interest in nonprofit development, fundraising, or donor relations
  • Basic understanding of grant writing or sponsorship outreach is a plus
  • Passion for community engagement and social impact

  • An orientation program with your supervisor
  • Regular check-ins during your internship
  • Support from the Roots team remotely
  • A certificate of completion at the end of your internship
  • A reference letter upon request
