My internship experience in Cape Town was unique for several reasons. The impact of the relevant historical background is still somehow displayed in social and relationships and inequalities. A flatmate once told me: ‘Cape Town is so close to a first-world city, but still displays third-world dynamics.’ You will experience contrasts and inequalities during your internship, and you will learn how to deal with them, both in your work and general life in Cape Town.
