Lajuma Research Centre is a South Africa-based field research and conservation hub that hosts global students, researchers, volunteers ranging from undergraduates to Postdoctoral candidates.The team advances scientific understanding of the Soutpansberg Mountain ecosystems by leading research and monitoring initiatives. In addition, they protect the mountain’s diverse habitats by providing a platform for rigorous study. The centre is situated in Luvhondo Nature Reserve, part of UNESCO Vhembe Biosphere Reserve covering 430 hectares of rugged terrains, rivers, waterfalls, montane grasslands, and forests.

Its mission is to promote plant diversity, vegetation mapping, predator–prey dynamics, habitat use monitoring, and biodiversity surveys of invertebrates, reptiles, amphibians, and birds. The team engages local communities, universities, and international research teams to promote environmental education and sustainable conservation practices. The organization also assists publication of scientific research and sharing of ecological knowledge globally.
