I loved my experience as a remote intern. One thing I learned is how to create better health-related activities for children in order to help them understand a concept. My remote internship exceeded my expectations due to the kind and enthusiastic individuals that I worked with. Being a part of a nonprofit organization has been an absolutely humbling and wonderful experience and I wish I could have done this internship in-person. I am from South Africa, but I am currently based in the USA. Interning with a South African nonprofit allowed me to have a little piece of home all the way across the world; not only was I working for an amazing organization that has the potential to transcend South African borders, but the organization also gave me...My remote internship exceeded my expectations due to the kind and enthusiastic individuals that I worked with. Overall, I had a great experience. My supervisor was a wonderful person who was understanding, helpful, provided consistent feedback, and stayed in communication with me even though we were on different continents. While I think the experience could have been better if I had been able to do the work on the ground, I still feel I learned a lot about the organization and the community it serves. I appreciate the support that I received throughout my internship and look forward to being able to utilize the skills I developed in digital communication, project management, lesson planning, and grant research...Overall, I had a great experience.
