Apply for your Co-op Abroad with Roots Interns

Wentworth Institute of Technology logo

Welcome Wentworth students! Great to see you’re interested in a co-op abroad that makes an impact on your career and on the world.

With our co-op placements, you are able to gain hands-on international work experience by working directly with decision makers to see the tangible impact of your work. At the same time, you’ll be contributing to important initiatives that are happening at a truly grassroots level around the world. We offer year-round placements in a variety of destinations and academic focus areas with ‘do-good’ organizations that often support the UN SDGs. You’ll be a large part of a small team, doing something amazing, for something you are truly passionate about.

Please note the following:

  • You will not receive a stipend of any kind because all internships/co-ops with our nonprofit partners are based on a volunteer work placement.
  • Organizations are based OUTSIDE of the US – meaning you will need to be flexible in your schedule to meet with your supervisors that will be based in Europe/Asia/Africa.
  • Fees apply and need to be paid once Roots has secured you a placement. How much you pay depends on your destination, duration, and accommodation type. You will find a breakdown of the internship/co-op package in the section ‘dates and fees’ with each listing on our website. However, for students pursuing mandatory co-ops (COOP3500 or COOP4500), these fees are covered by Wentworth Co-op & Careers (up to USD 495).

I’m ready to secure my grassroots co-op abroad – what’s next?!
