I have become more proficient in my use of Excel charting and was able to utilize the knowledge I learned in school in the workplace. My experience with Roots and my host organization was seamless. Roots were very responsive and made me feel supported throughout my internship experience. Whilst I knew the support was there, I was always able to make my own decisions and maintain my independence. This helped me build my professional skills that will be valuable in the workplace in the future. Besides the experience it has added to my resume, this internship gave me a lot of insight into what I want to do in the future. I learned about how a nonprofit operates, which was very illuminating. The experience was very enjoyable and I got to do a variety of work. My tasks included running the social media accounts, Google Ads campaign, data entry and analysis, designing graphics, and creating a Wikipedia page. Probably the biggest project I was able to work on is their national television campaign in Malawi, which used graphics I created as part of the programs....Besides the experience it has added to my resume, this internship gave me a lot of insight into what I want to do in the future.
