Anais, British

I absolutely loved my Remote Gender Equality internship. I really enjoyed the variety of tasks and projects that I was able to be involved with from afar. I created a ‘Basic First Aid’ booklet for an intensive community workshop, along with resources for their female empowerment groups, including a leaflet on puberty and a leaflet on entrepreneurship for the ‘Vision for Women’ group. I also looked at the possibility of starting a blog section on their website and researched potential grants. My biggest achievement was organizing an ‘Evening of Voice’ that will be held at my old secondary school which involved gathering responses from girls in the UK and Zambia. The hope is that the girls will embrace the opportunity to not only voice their thoughts, but to broaden their understanding of the world and its different cultures. This internship was eye-opening in many ways and I feel very privileged to have played a small part in such a wonderful organization.
