Intern with Oceans Alive Foundation

Oceans Alive Foundation (OA) is a dedicated marine conservation NGO based in Kilifi, Kenya. Their mission focuses on improving the livelihoods of coastal fishing communities through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and capacity building in sustainable management of natural resources.

OA operates across four key pillars: Environment, Social, Economic, and Governance. Through these pillars, they implement nature-based solutions, promote community health, and teach resilience in food production. They also engage communities in transparent governance of fisheries management. Their projects include coral reef fisheries restoration, community-led fisheries conservation, and livelihood improvement initiatives like the Trash 4 Cash program and climate-smart backyard permaculture. Interns will engage deeply with these efforts, contributing to impactful work in marine conservation and community development in a beautiful coastal environment.

A group of interns enjoy the sustainable fisheries development internship, standing together in a lush forest, showcasing teamwork, nature, and community spirit.
